PMR Series Lower Hull

PMR Series Lower Hull

This is the base for the craft – much like a chassis. Simple to make and where accuracy can make a difference. The lower hull is just the floor panel and the angled lower hull panel.

The design uses the advantage of joining sandwich panel cores to minimise waste. The lower hull panel are cut from a foam core “plank” that is continuously extended as needed. The process is so fast that there is little advantage of using sophisticated cutting CAM systems due to the setup time.

The lower hull can be assembled either side up and the plans considers the pros and cons of each approach. There are full dimensions for those that want them although the parts will almost assemble themselves.

The panels are bonded together, gaps filled and skinned on both sides with fibreglass cloth.

The PMR Series hovercraft range in width from 1.86 to 2.34 wide by 3.5 to 4.4 long. More information and plan sets available from
