All of the side skirts have been sewn together. I cut ply templates from the plans to make the job easy. Carefull placement of the patterns means there is no waste of material. Paul’s designs fit spot on with the material roll width. A leather needle was used in the home sewing machine and the job was done quicksmart. Thanks Josie you can have the first ride. All the rudders have been completed and painted. They went together fairly easy once I got the concept of using two blocks of wood each end to form fillets to strengthen the ends. The top of the hull has been smoothed and rounded on the corners. A lot of work went in to getting a nice smooth finish. The top was then glassed and I applied primer and hi build coat over the lot. It takes a bit to get a smooth finish as the cloth has that woven look. The underside of the hull was then given its final coat of two pack paint. We are now close to starting the mechanicals. I have ordered the fan and the Centaflex units. Paul is giving the drawings a final tweak and we will get started. Merry Christmas 2020. What a year !.
Hi Trevor,
Craft looks great, just wondering what you used for the skirt material. Is it something available through Paskal fabrics.
Regards
Bruno
Hi Bruno. We used two fabrics ,one for the “carrier” material from Paskal and another for the “wear” panels from the UK. Regards Trevor Barrett.
