Builders log Jeremy L Steering and Cockpit 28/01/2021 / 28/01/2021 by Jeremy Ludlow | Leave a Comment Handlebars The handlebars are so not exotic. I collected them off the verge collection. They belonged to a childrens bike. Now they look flash in a PMR1. The handlebar holder to the dash is equally unassuming. It was just a Plastic T piece from a blow-up pool. It does the trick of holding the bars […] Read more »

Builders log Trevor B Trevors build 11 24/12/2020 / 17/03/2021 by Trevor Barrett | Leave a Comment I have now finished mounting the duct to the hull. At first I fitted the mounting flanges to the duct while it was on the bench. This proved to be the wrong approach as I had all sorts of bother trying to line the duct on the isolation rubbers and get the correct height. So […] Read more »
Builders log Trevor B Trevors build 10 03/12/2020 / 17/03/2021 by Trevor Barrett | 2 Comments on Trevors build 10 All of the side skirts have been sewn together. I cut ply templates from the plans to make the job easy. Carefull placement of the patterns means there is no waste of material. Paul’s designs fit spot on with the material roll width. A leather needle was used in the home sewing machine and the […] Read more »

Builders log Trevor B Trevors build 9 12/11/2020 / 17/03/2021 by Trevor Barrett | 1 Comment on Trevors build 9 I built the duct jig next to plans and mounted it on a table for easy access and rotation. The first layer of 10mm foam was cut and strapped to the jig. As seen on the photo, straps blocks of wood and a little heat gun rounded the corners near the cutout. They tended to […] Read more »

Builders log Trevor B Trevors build 8 30/10/2020 / 17/03/2021 by Trevor Barrett | 1 Comment on Trevors build 8 The front deck sections have now been put together. I had a little issue with the dashboard section which threw me a bit and the sections didn’t go in completely to plan but to me it worked out fine. Both the front and rear sections were then lifted of and the joins filled and then […] Read more »
Builders log Trevor B Trevors build 7 23/10/2020 / 24/10/2020 by Trevor Barrett | Leave a Comment The next job forward was to set up the inner panels and then the decks. The inner panels were skinned with F/G and resin to instructions and then spot glued on the lines. The joins between the panels and the hull were then filled and skinned with F/G tape and resin. We then set about […] Read more »
Builders log Trevor B Trevors build 6 13/10/2020 / 14/10/2020 by Trevor Barrett | Leave a Comment All the joins on the inside hull have now been filled. If you take your time, use a fairly stiff epoxy/microballoon mix, the joins can be filled with an old credit card bent into a radius and you will have little or no spillage to clean up. I used a 100mm FG tape on the […] Read more »
